AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZOl\llNG ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY.OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 932 : CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 19TH STREET IN THE VICINITY OF PEORIA AVENUE
FROM AN "R-211 TO A ''C-411 ZONING DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the
City Cpmmission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out willJ
be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£, Vernonrs Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, I
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more thatjt
fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commissiot!l
on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was
duly held in the Assembly Room of the G:entral Fire Station Building, heated at
503 Avenue Kin Lubbock County, Texas, at which time persons appeared in sup-
port of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission deter
mined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the
Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set
forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in
final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
V BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 932
Change a part of the following described property, to-wit:
Field ndes of five and one-half (5 1/2) acres of E. J. Sefcik in its
Warranty Deed of November 2, 1950, recorded in Volume 442~ Page
329 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas;
Change the East 150 feet of that certain tract or parcel of land being a
part of Block Three (3) of the John W. Ja;rrott Subdivision of the North-
west one-fourth {NW /4} of Section Fifteen (15), in Block "B'' in Lubbock
County, Texas; that certain tract or parcel being particularly described
by metes and bounds as~ to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point 266 feet West of a concrete marker on the North-
west boundary line of P & S F Railway right of way where itr.; intersects
the South boundary line of State Highway No. 290, same beipg the North-
west corner of a • 59-acre tract heretofore conveyed one Bavousette by
deed recorded in Volume 214, Page 107 of the Deed Records of Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE West along the South boundary line of said Highway 290,
122. 8 feet;
THENCE South 50 feet;
THENCE West 50 feet, stake for corner and the beginning corner
of the tract of land to be conveyed the Grantee;
THENCE West 565 feet for the Northwest corner of the tract of
land heretofore conveyed Grantors by Buford D. Allen and wife,
Kathryn M. Allen;
THENCE South with the West boundary line of said tract 666.3
feet to the Southwest corner, which point is on the North boundary
line of the P & S F Railway right of way;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction along the Northwest boundary
of the P & S F Railway right of way to a point which is due South of
the beginning point of this tract of land, 700 feet more or less, stake
for corner;
THENCE North to the beginning point approximately 600 feet more
or less;
the area contains five and one-half acres, more or less, less 100
feet of extreme West side sold John Weadhover on April 7, 1951,
recorded in Volume 422, Pase 143 of the Deed Records,
from an ••R-211 in a 11 C-411 zoning district. (Said property being
located on the South side of 19th Street in the vicinity of Peoria
A venae).
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance.
said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section l hereof shall be changed
to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance
herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
