AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF 50TH
STREET, LUBBOCK .. TEXAS AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRlBED IN THE
BODY OF TinS ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK
THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING
AND ABANDONMENT OF SUCH PORTION OF 50TH STREET AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAs. the City Commission has determined that a portion of 50th
Street as hereinafter more particularly de scribed is no longer needed for street
purposes or for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is to the best interests of
the City of Lubbock, Texas, its inhabitants~ and the general public to close.
vacate, and abandon for street purposes and public use such portion of 50th Street
-as hereinafter describedi NOW. THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That a portim of 50th Street, as hereinafter described, shall
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes
and for public use; and the tract hereby abandoned is more particularly described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 18 fee t West and 15 feet North of the Southeast
corner of Lot 204 of Murry Hill Addition# 2. to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County,, Texas;
THENCE South 45 feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the r i ght, the radius point
of which bears West 15 feet a distance of 23.56 fe et to a point of
tangenc y;
THENCE West 162. 13 feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Northwesterly around a curve to the right, the radius point
of which bears North 82.. 93 feet a distance of 43. 42 feet to a point of
tangency;
THENCE North 60° West 18. 71 feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Northwesterly around a curve to the l eft the radius point
of which bears South 60° West 183. 16 feet a distance of 95.90 feet
to a point of tangency:r said point being in the South line of Lot 204,
Murry Hill Addition# .2.;
THENCE East along the South line of said Lot 2.04 a distance of 311. 36
feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, the radius point of
which bears North 15 feet to a point of tangencya said point being the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion of said
50th Street. as de scribed in Section 1 hereof,. has been closed and abandoned•
showing the number of this ordinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
