HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 3431-1961 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 Zone Case 907 - 03/23/1961u JW ..... _ re-23-1.9{ol ORDINANCE NO. 3431 "'\ 0 4-\-3-\ 9(0 ' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 907 : CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF 40TH STREET AND AVENUE A FROM AN fiR-2" TO A 11 C-4" ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda- tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the Ci ty Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out wi be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No .. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 10llf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more tha fifteen (15} days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commissio on such proposed amendmelil.t, and the public hearing a c cording to said notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinanc-e and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final writt n form prior to first reading hereof; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the samre are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 907 Change the following described property, to-wit: BEGINNING at a point in the West right-of-way line of Avenue A, as it intersects with the South right-of-way line of 40th Street in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South along the West right-of-way line of said Avenue A 2.59. 3 feet to a point; THENCE West 138 feet to a point; THENCE North 2.59. 3 feet to a point; THENCE East 138 feet along the South right-of-way line of 40th 31-eet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, from an "R-2.11 to a "C-4" zoning district. (Said property being located at the Southwest corner of the intersection o£ 40th Street and Avenue A). ) SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith.
