AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PO,RTION OF EL PASO
A VENUE LYING BETWEEN ZND PLACE AND 3RD STREET AS MORE PARII.'I-
CULARLY DESCRIBED lN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING
THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUB-
BOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAl.D PORTION
OF EL PASO A VENUE AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS. the City Commission finds that a portion of E1 Paso Avenue•
as hereinafter more particularly described is no lo·nger needed for street pur-
poses or for public useJ and.,
WHEREAS• the City Commission finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon same for street purposes and to public use; NOW
THEREFORE•
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM.MISSlON OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of El Paso Avenue., as hereinafter described.
shall BE and the same is hereby closed. vacated and abandoned for street pur-
poses and for public use; said tract of land being particularly described as
follows,. to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point which is the Southeast corner of Block 3,.
. Spikes Addition to the City of Lubbock• Lubbock Countya Texas;
THENCE East 40.00 feet to a point said point being the Southwest
corner of Block 1_, Covington AdditionJ
THENCE North along and parallel to the West line of Block l:t
Covington Additiona a distance of 350. 00 feet to a poinw said
point being the Northwest corner of Block 1~ Covington Addition;
THENCE. West 40.00 feet to a point• said point being the North-
east corner of Block 3:. Spikes Addition;
THENCE South along and parallel to the East line o£ Block 3•
Spikes Addition, a distance of 350.00 feet to the POINT and
PLACE OF BEGINNING•
SECTION 2.. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the. City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion o£ Street
as described in Section 1 hereof,. has been closed and abandoneda showing the
nu:mber of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
