HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 3373-1961 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 Zoning Case 896, Lot 2 - 02/09/1961JW:F:wg o;;l-CR-1 ql.DI ORDINANCE NO. 3373 ~-.:2a-IQUf AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 169S'ANI> T~ OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 896 : CHANGE LOT 3 AND THE SOUTH ONE- HALF OF LOT z_ BLOCK 29, CRUMP FIVE ACRE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM AN "R-1" TO AN ''R-3'' ZONIN DISTRICT. (SAID PROPERTY BEING LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF 50TH STREET AND COLLEGE AVENUE). SUBJEC TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: THAT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PRO- PERTY BE TREATED AS A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda- tion, which '?"as received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out wil be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as .well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article lOll£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes~ amend.ed in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Com- mission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the AS~embly Rooin of'the Central Fire Station Building, located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it wasy by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to c hanged condiions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit; ZONE CASE NO. 8"96 Change Lot 3 and the South one-ha1i of Lot 2, Block 29, Crump Five Acre Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "R-1" to an "R-3" zoning district .. (Said property being located at the Northeast corner of the intersection of 50th Street and College Avenue}. Subject to the following condition: That the development of this property be treated as a specific use permit. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and deffective date of this Ordi- nance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accor .. dance herewith.
