AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CORRECTION OF !Q;d;t~j /&0
PAVING ORDINANCE NO. 3180 AS FINALLY PASSED ON JULY 13a 1960, AUTH -
RIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NEW CERTIFICATES OF ASSESSMENT; AND AUTHO
RIZING THE. CITY SECRETARY TO NOTE THE CHANGE MADE BY THIS ORDI-
NANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF 1.
THrS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS., in Paragraph No. Ill Of Grdinance No. 3180 wherein certain asses
aments were made against named persons and property in certain stated amoWlts; I
and•
WHEREAS. there were errors in the descriptions of property. the designations
of property owners, and that amoWlts assessed thereon for street improvements; I
and, I
WHEREAS• Ordinance No. 3180 provided in Paragraph IX thereof that any errl
in the name of any property owner, in the description of any property,, or in the
amount of any as.sessment,.. could be corrected at any time by the City; and•
WHEREAS. notice and hearing were duly made and had in the time and manner
required by law and which notice was sufficient in all respects to give full notice t
property owners of property abutting the portions of streets to be improved; and,
WHEREA~ the power to correct errors in street improvement proceedings is
authorized by Article ll05b of Vernon1 s Revised Civil Statutes of Texas; and, ·
WHEREA~ this Ordinance affects the daily operation of the Paving Section of
the Engineering Department which creates an emergency~ requiring the suspen-
sion of all rules providing for the several readings of an ordinance before final
passage thereof; NOW THEREFORE•
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBO<X:

'of property owners2. and assessment amounts on the properties above to replace
those certificates which contained the incorrect descriptions of property~. de signa-
tiona of owners and assessment amounts.
SECTION 18. The C.ity Secretary is authorized to note the amendment to Ordi-
nance No. 3180 in the margin o£ the ordinance records of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 19. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
for the reasons set forth in the preaml:ie hereof• and the rule reqW.ring two read-
ings of an ordinanc e is suspended., and this ordinance shall take effect immediatel
from and after its passage.
