Lo n: -51) ORDINANCE NO. 3262 09-ZZ-\9(DO .llf ORDIN!NCE AUTHORIZING THE ALTERING AND CHANGING OF THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ~ 30 MilES PER HOUR TO tr0 MIUS PER HOUR ON TRA T PORTION OF THE STRD'rS DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: On the east side of Quaker Avenue beginning on the north side of 19th Street and extending north to the city limits ~ AUTHORIZING THE PlACING OF SPBlm LIMIT SIGNS; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY'; fi.U"'IDING FOR PUBUClTION; AND DECIARING AN EMERGENCY; AND l'RCWIDING FOR THE IFFICTIVE DA.'l'E OF THIS ORDnANCE. WH!H!lS, the governing body, as authorised by Article 827a, Sec. 8, Vernon's Annotated Penal Code, finds that certain prima facie speed limits an certain highways are different from what is -reasonable or safe and should be a~tered and theiBediat• preservation of-public health and safety requires im- ~ediate alteration of said prima facie speed limits as hereafter set forth, -· which creates an emergency; NCM THEREFORE, BE IT ORDli'DD BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE GI'l'I OF LUBBOOi: .. SECTION 1. The prima facie speed l~t established by Article S27a, Sec. 8, Subsection 1 (b), Vernon•s Annotated Penal Code is altered and changed tor all vehicles to 1·0 miles per hour on the following designated highways or street in the corporate limits of the City of lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas , to-wit: On the east side of Quaker A'ienue beginning on the north side of 19th Street and extending north to the city limits. SECTION 2o The City Manager is authorized and directed to cause the placing ot signs so ae to clearly define the limits ot the prima facie areas set out. in this Ordinance. ,.
