AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. l'b95 AND THE
,,
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 865: CHANGE LOTS 29, 30, 35, 36, 61, 62, 67, AND
68, JAMES SUBDIVISION, A"'NADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOC
COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM AN "R-1" TO AN "M-111 ZONING DISTRICT. (SAID
PROPERTIES BEING LOCATED SOUTH OF 50TH STREET BETWEEN OAK AND
QUIRT AVENUES); SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS:
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommen
dation, which was receiv~d by the City Commission and after due consideration,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section. 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated €ivil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen
{IS) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on
such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was
duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock
Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after
said hearing, it was by the. City Commissio;.1. determined that it wruld be in the
public interest, ·due to changed conditions, that the, Zoning Ordinance and the Zonin
Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance
and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first readi g
hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SEC'IDN l. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the 15ame are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 865:
Change Lots 29, 30, 35, 36, 61, 62., 67, and 68, James
Subdivision, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, from an 11 R-111 to an "M-111 zoning district.
{Said properties being located South of 50th Street between
Oak and Quirt Avenues);
Subject to the following condition: That the owners and/or
developers shall make application for and secure a building
permit within ten months after the date of final passage of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordina
said lots, tracts, and parcels of land described in Section 1, hereof, shall be chan
to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance here.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
