HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 3089-1960 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 And The Official Map Of The City Of Lubbock - 03/24/1960ORDINANCE NO~i.a!?.._. 0 4 -OlD--l9t.Do AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE ~OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY .OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING 1 CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 834 : CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF BROWNFIELD ROAD AND SALEM AVENUE FROM AN "R-111 TO A "C-4'' ZONING DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDI- TION: THAT THE OWNERS AND/OR DEVELOPERS SHALL MAKE APPLICATIO FOR AND SECURE A BUILDING PERMIT WITHIN TEN MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF FINAL PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda- tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds ~hat making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen {15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbockf Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said 1 hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would' be in the public interest, due to changed conditons, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and . this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading here of; NOW THERE FORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the aame are hereby amended as ·follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 834 : Change the following described property, to-wit: BEGINNING at a point which bears North 89054'30" East along the South line of the Northeast one-quarter of Sec- tion 17, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, a distance of 16.97 feet from the Southwest corner of Lot 1, of the "B ULLA.RD ADDITION'' to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE North 89°54'30" East along the South line of the Bullard Addition, a distance of 481.22 feet; THENCE South 36°06'50rt East a distance of 179.26 feet; THENCE South 89°59' 1011 West a distance of 784.6.9 feet to a point in the South line of the Brownfield Highway; ''. / .J THENCE North 53°52135" East along the South right of way line of the Brownfield Highway, a distance of 244. 82 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. From an "R·l" to a 11C-4" Zoning District. {Said pro- perty being located in the vicinity of Brownfield Road and Salem Avenue); Subject to the following condition: THAT the owners and/or developers shall make appli- . cation for and secure a building permit within ten months after the date of final passage of this Ordinance. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1, hereof sha be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith.
