AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LUBB'6h~ bity t-6!fEO{SECTION 6-4
THEREOF) SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR 5 YEAR TERMS STAGGERED FOR MEM-
BERS OF THE CEMETERY BOARD.
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable to change the terms
of Cemetery Board members from 10 years to 5 years; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
Section 6-4 of the Lubbock City Code, Volume I is hereby amended to read
as follows:
11 Ther.e is hereby created a nd established a cemetery board to be com•
posed of five members, and each member shall be a resident citizen of the City
and such board shall be officially designated as the Cemetery Board of the City of
Lubbock, Texas. The successors of board members as previously appointed pur-
suant to Ordinance No. 849 of the City of Lubock shall be appointed as follows:

in January, 1960, shall be appointed for a five year term; the
successor of the board member whose term expires i n January,
1962, shall be appointed for a five ~i:tmi the successor of

ed for a five year term; the succes~or of one board member whose
term expires in January, 1966, shall be appointed for a two·year
term and the other successor of the other board member whose
term expires in January, 1966, shall be appointed for a five year
term; and thereafter their successors shall hold office for five
years and/ or until l"har successors are appointed.11
