AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FRANCHISE OF THE PIONEER NATURAL GA~
COMPANY AS CONTAINED IN ORDINANCE NO• 479-A OF THE C!l!Y'!O~ .. L.UBB Cl
AS HERETOFORE AMENDED~ TO PaOVIDE THAT ALL GAS USED BY LUBBO~·
CHRISTIAN COLLEGE IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES
TO BE PAID FOR AS THOUGH USED THROUGH A SINGLE METER; PROVIDING 1
FOR PUBLICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THIS ORmNANCE.
WHEREAS~ the Pioneer Natural Gas Company has requested that the method
of billing and charging the Lubbock Christian College for gas services furnished
as contained in the franchise of said company be amended; and
WHEREAS the City Commission finds that the payment for gas used by
Lubbock Christian College as though used through one meter to be an efficient
and economical practice and in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE,.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 479-A of the City of Lubbock, as finally
passed by the City Commissio.n on the 2.2.nd day of January A. D.., 19311 as heretr~
fore amended by certain ordinances passed by the City of Lubbock., jranting to 1
the predecessors of Pioneer Natural Gas Company a gas franchise for the purpo,~
of conducting in said city a busi.ness furnishing natural gas to the city and in~
b.a.!>itants thereof., BE and the same is hereby amended;, by adding at the end of
Section 4 thereof the following!
11 That hereafter all gas used in any of the buildings
belonging to Lubbock Christian College and used for
school purposes,withln the city limits of the city of
Lubbock;~ shall be paid for by Lubbock Christian College
as though used through a single meter. 11
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published in its entirety once a week f r
three (3) consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in the City of Lubbock., an
shall become effective after the expiration of thirty (30) days from its last publil
cation all of which shall be at the expense of the Pioneer Natural Gas Company a d
as provided in Chapter 1, Article n, Section 18 o£ the City of Lubbock Charter.
