AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO• 169S AND THE OFF-
ICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO• 785: CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN
THE 3800 AND 3900 BLOCKS OF AVENUE "A" FROM AN "R-211 TO AN "M-1"
ZONING DISTRICT SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: THAT THE
OWNERS AND/OR DEVELOPERS SHALL MAKE APPLICATION FOR AND SEGUR
A BUILDING PERM.IT WITIDN TEN MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF FINAL
PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatiqin,
which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration~ the City
Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be i
the public inte re at; and,.
WHEREASJ all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£~ Vernon1s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen I
(15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on
such proposed amendmen4 and the public hearing according to said notice was _,,
duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, LubboclC!,
Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said
hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public 1
interest, due to changed conditions;J that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning MaP.j
be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body o£ this Ordinance and I
this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading I
hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO.o 785
Change the following described property, to-wit:
BEGINNING at an iron pipe which ia 3333.9 feet North and 626. 1 feet
East of the Southwest corner of Section 6~ Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE West 423. 37 feet to a point on the West line of a 15 foot
dedicated alley, the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE North along the West line of the 15 foot dedicated alley, 609. 1
feet to a point at the bend in the alley line11 a corner of this tract;
THENCE North 450 West 14. 14 feet to a point, a corner of this tract;

THENCE East along the South line of a 15 foot dedicated alley, 433.3 7
feet to a point,. the Northe~st corner of this tract;
THENCE South 619. 1 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING,. from an "R-2.11
to an "M-111 zoning district.
(Said property being located in the 3800 and 3900 Blocks o£ Avenue A).
Subject to the following conation: That the owners and/or developers
shall make application for and secure a building permit within ten
months after the date of final passage .of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2.. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinanc
said lots, tracts, ·and parcels of land described in Section 1~ hereof shall be chang
to the zoning distric~ indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance
herewith. ·
AND ·IT IS SO ORDERED
