AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING OIUJINANCE NO .. 1695 AND THE OFFI-
CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO.; 777: { (1) PLACE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
EAST OF QUIRT AVENUE AND NORTH OF 66TH STREET IN THE uM-1'' ZON-
ING DISTRICT • (2.) PLACE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED EAST OF UTE AYE
NUE AND NORTH OF 66TH STREET IN THE "M-2.11 ZONING DISTRICT • ALL OF
SAID PROPERTY WAS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK BY ORDINANCE
NO.; 2.544.
-. WHEREAS,. the proposed change in zoning districts as he.reinaiter made has:::-~ ~~·:
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendafio ~
which was received by the City Commission and after due considerationll' the City
Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be i
the public inteDe·st; and~
WHERJ;AS.,. all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to
the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied wit~ as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 2.0 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£.,. Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen
(15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on
such proposed amendment, and the public hearing,according to said notice was dul
held in the City Commission Room _on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbockll'
Texas, at which time per sons appeared in support of the proposal; and• after said
1 hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public 1
interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map!!
be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and
this Ordinance having been introduced in fi!lal written form prior to first reading
hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1.. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and)
the same are hereby amended as follows., to·-wit:
ZONE CASE NO• 777
{1) Place the following described property in the "M-1" zoning district:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Survey 2.1l BlockS, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE West 1046 feet more or less1 to the Southeast corner of
Survey 1, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North along, the East line of said Survey 1, Block E, to a
point 150 feet South of the Northeast corner of said Survey 11 Block E;
THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet South of the South line of Survey
4~ Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, to a point in the South right o£ way
line of Southeast Drive; '
THENCE Southeasterly along said right of way line to a point 330 feet
South of and as measured perpendicular to the South line of said Survey
4, Block B;
THENCE West parallel to and 330 feet South of the South line of said
S~rvey 4, Block B, to a point 330 feet South of the Northwest corner
of said Survey Z.a Block S;
THENCE South along 1he West lin~ of said Survey 2., Block S, to the
POINT AND PLACE OF BEGINNING,;
(2) Place the following described property in the "M-2.11 zoning district:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Survey z, Block S,. Lubbock
G:ounty~ Texas;
THENCE North along the West line of said Survey z, Block S, to a
point 330 feet South of the Northwest corner of said Survey 2., Block Ss
THENCE East parallel to and 330 feet South of the North line of said
Survey 2., BlockS, to a point in the North right of way line of South-
eas~ Drivel
THENCE Northwesterly along said right of way line to a point in the
North line of said Survey 2, BlockS;
THENCE East along the North line of Surveys Z and l of said BlockS,
to a point 841 feet West of the Northeast corner of said Survey 1, Block Si
THENCE South to a point 841 feet West of the Southeast corner of said
Survey 1,. Block &
THENCE West along the South line of said Surveys 1 and 2, BlockS
to the POINT AND PLACE OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2.. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinanc ,
said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be change
to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map ia amended in accordance here
with.
