AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 .AND tHE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWIN
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. '783 : CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATE
IN THE 4100 BLOCK OF AVENUE A FROMAN "R-2u TO A 11C-4u ZONING
DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: THAT THE OWNERS
AND/OR DEVELOPERS SHALL MAKE APPUCATION FOR AND SECURE A
BUILDING PERMIT WITIRN TEN MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF FINAL
PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE.

WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideratiop., th
City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Z•ming Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Si;atutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fiftee
(15)-days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on
such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was
duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubboc ,
Texas, -at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after
said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the
public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the
Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the· body of this
Ordinance and this Ordinance having been intrc.duced in final written form prior
to first reading hereof; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMlSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1 •. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 783
Change the following described property from an "R-211
to a 11C-4t1 zoning district, to-wit:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the West right-of-way
line of Avenue A and the North right-of-way line of 42nd
Street in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North along said right-of-way line of Avenue
A to a point 289.7 feet North of the South line of the
Northeast 1/4 of Section 8, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE West 138 feet to a point in the East line of a
15 foot dedicated alley;
THENCE South to a point in the North right-of-way line of
42nd Street;
THENCE East along said right-of•way line of 42nd
Street to the POINT AND BLACE OF BEGINNING;
Subject to the following condition: That the owners
and/or developers shall make application for and
secure a building permit within ten months after the
date of final passage of this Ordinance.

The remainder: 6£ the property considered by this
case shall remain in the 11R-211 zoning district.
SECTION 2 •• THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi-
nance said lots, tracts, and parcels of land described in Section 1, hereof shall
be "changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in
accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
