AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION 2.32 OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 (SAID
v ORDINANCE BEING AN APPENDiX: TO THE LUB~ CITY CODE) SO AS TO REVIS;; I]}{E DEFINITION
OF aJSTOMARY HOME OCCUPATIONS; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBUCA-
TION AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF Tf11[S ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the matter of amending the zoning ordinance definition of "Customary
Horne Occupations" has been referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its
recommendation arid report, which was received by the City Commission, and after
notice and public hearing where all interested parties were given an opportunity to
express their views with respect thereto, and the City Commdssion,has determined
that it would be in the public interest, safety, health, and general welfare to
revise the definition of "Customary Home Occupations" as hereafter set forth in the
body of this Ordinance; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

v ance being an Append~) to the Lubbock City Code) is hereby amended to read hereafter

as follows: ·
112.32 CUSTOMARY HOME OCCUPATIONS: Occupation~ customarily carried
on in the home by a member of the occupant's family without struc-
tural alterations in the building or any of its rooms, without the
installation of machinery or additional equipment other than that
customary to' normal'household operation, without stocks in trade be-
ing kept and sold on the premises, without exterior )storage Qf equip-
ment or materials used in the occupation, and provided that the entranee
to the area where such occupation exists be within the dwelling unit
and that any ' Signs or exterior displays conform to the requirements
of the zoning ordinance."
SECTION 2. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any provi~ion of this
ordinance shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not to exceed TWO HUNDRED AND
N07100 ($200.00) DOLLARS.
SECTION 3. The City Secretary shall cause the publication of this ordinance
once a week for two consecutive weeks in a new~aper regularly published in the
City of Lubbock, and this ordinance shall become effective ten days after its last
publioa tion.
