A PENALTY, AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION I AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. I WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it would be in the public interest to revise and/or change the procedure for establishing limited time parking outside II parking meter zones; NOW THEREFORE: I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Section 18-91 of the Lubbock City Code is amended to read as follows: "Upon any written request filed with the City Traffic Engineer for limited time parking from the owners and/or tenants of commercial property abutting a public street on one side of any block for a minimum distance of at least 150 feet which are outside of the established Park- ing Meter areas and such requests represent eighty per cent or more of the commercial frontage proposed to be placed in a limited time parking zone, the City Traffic Engineer shall mark., or cause the marking of such limited time parking zones with appropriate signs, indicating one-hour or two-hour _parking limits as the case may be7 or if it is determined that a one-hour or two-hour parking limit is not satisfactory to the affected abutting property owners or tenants, the application shall be referred to the City Commission for dis- position. Said parking limits shall be effective between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 6! 00 P.M., except Snndays and City holidays. If residential property abuts or adjoins Commercial property on the same side of the street and in the same block, the owners and/ or ten~nts of said residential property may join in an application for limited time parking with the owners of said commercial property under the same terms and regulations which control limited time parking in the commercial property area. II SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating the limited time parkin as established and designated pursuant to the provisions by overparking said limited time shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not to exceed TWO HUND- RED {$200. 00) DOLLARS. ~ S~CTION 3.
