AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI-
CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING Ia
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 745: CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED WES!f
OF OAK AVENUE AND SOUTH OF 17TH STREET FROM AN 11 R-Z.11 TO A "C-411
ZONING DISTRlCT; SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: THAT THE
OWNERS AND/OR DEVELOPERS SHALL MAKE APPLICATION FOR AND SEGUR
A BUILDING PERMIT WITHIN TEN MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF FINAL PASS
AGE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREA~ the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatio ,
which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City
Commission finds that making the propoeed change as hereinafter set out will be in;
the public interest; and1 · I
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to t
the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section Z.O of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953~ and
notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15)
days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on such
proposed amendment, and the public hearing a.ccording to said notice was duly hel
in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall:J Lubbock, Texas,
at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and~ after said hearing~
it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest,
due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amend~d
in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ord.inanc~
having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW
THEREFORE.,1
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 745
Change the following described property from an 11R-Z.11 to a 11 C-411 zoning
district, to-wit:
BEGINNING At a point, said point being the intersection of the West
right of way line of Oak Avenue and the South right of way line of East
17th Street in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County# Texas;
THENCE West for a distance of 78 0 feet more or less to a point, said
point being in the zone division line as established by Ordinance No.
1695 of the City of Lubbock;

THENCE South for a distance of 340 feet more or less along said zone
division line to a point, s~id point being in the North line of the "C-4"
zoning district established along the North side of 19th Street by said
Ordinance No. 1695;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction along said line of the 11C-411
zoning district established along_,the North side of 19th Street, to a
point, said point being in the West right of way line of Oak Avenue;
THENCE North along the West right of way line of Oak Avenue to
the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
SAVE AND EXCEPT THE NORTH 130 feet of the above described
property, which shall remain in the uR-211 zoning district.
Subject to the following condition: That the owners and/ or developers shall
make application for and secure a building permit within ten months after the date
of final passage of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinan e,
said lot.s, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be change
to the zoning district indicated and the Officia~ Map is amended in accordance
herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED ,.,
