HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2703-1959 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 And Official Map Of The City - 02/12/1959I ( , ...._.; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL ~ OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 73.8: CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF PANHANDLE AND SANTA FE RAILWAY AT ORLANDO AVENUE AS ' EXTENDED SOUTH FROM THE "R-211 TO THE "C-4" ZONING DISTRICTJSUB- JECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: THAT THE OWNERS AND/OR DEVELO - ERS SHALL MAKE APPLICATION FOR AND SECURE A BUILDING PERMIT WIT IN TEN MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF FINAL PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS,. the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatio , which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be i , the public interest; an~ WHEREAS,. all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Vernon1s Annotated Civil Statute s:a amended in 1953~ and notic~ was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas~ at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest~ due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and I this Ordinance ha"'lin&. been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE$ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows., to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 738 Change the following described property from an "R-2" to a "C-411 zoning district, to -wit: A tract of land located in Section 15, Block B~ Lubbock County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: LIN-r BEGINNING at a point in the South right of way~of 19th Street~. which bears South 50 feet and West 50 feet from the Northwest corner of Lot 2~ "Sara Addition'' to the City of Lubbock, said point being in the zone division line as established by Ordinance 1695 of the City of Lubbock; THENCE West in the South right of way line of 19th Street a distance of 122.. 8 feet; ~~~==~========================================================~= .,- THENCE South for a distance of 300 feetl more or less to a point in the North right of way line of the Seagraves Branch of the Panhandle 8t Santa Fe Railway; THENCE Northeasterly along said railway right of way line to a point in said zone division line as established by Ordinance No. 1695; THENCE North along said zone division line to the PLACE OF BEGINNING• (Said property being located in the 4200 Block of 19th Street). SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: That the owners and/or developers shall make application for and secure a building permit within ten months after the date o£ final; passage of tlis Ordinance. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinanc said lots~ tracts., and parcels of land described in Section 11 hereof shall be chang d to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith.
