HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2701-1959 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 - 02/12/1959__ ... - Q~-~~-L953 ORDINANCE NO. 2701 -----0 ~-,;l.(t, -\95.9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 733: PLACE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED NORT OF AN ALLEY NORTH OF 16th STREET AND EAST OF QUAKER A VENUE !N-J -T 'RERMANENT f!R ~3Jb ' ZONING DISTRICT • WHEREAS,, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatio ~ which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; an<4 WHEREAS,. all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon1s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held·in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and~ after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it.would be in the public interest, due to changed conc:Utions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW,, THEREFORE• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSlON OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and! the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: l ZONE CASE NO. 733 Place the following described property recently annexed to the City of Lubbock (where temporary 11R-ln zoning district use requirements apply), in a permanent "R-311 zoning district, to-wit: A tract or parcel of land out of the Southwest quarter (SWl/4) of Section TWo (2), in Bloc).< E-2, situated in Lubbock County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point 1436 feet north of the Southwest corner of Section 21 Block E-2; THENCE North 1178. 5 feet; THENCE East 92.4 feet; '· p THENCE South 1178. 5. feet; THENCE West 924 feet1 to .the PLACE OF BEGINNING; co:r,~.taining 25 acres of land, more or less. (Said property being located in the 1500 Block of Quaker Avenue). SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordin- ance, said lots~ tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accord- ance herewith.
