AN ORDINANCE CREATING ONE-HOUR PARfilNG METER ZONES ONCER-
TAIN PORTIONS OF AVENUE 11M11 AND BROADWAY IN THE CITY OF LUBBOC ,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that changed traffic conditions create
a hazard injurious to the public and the public's use of streets requiring the
establishment of additional parldng meter zones, which creates an emergency;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM.:MISSION OF THE CITY. OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION I. THAT one-hour parking meter zones are hereby established at,
the following locations in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, as follow

(b)
Extend the parking meter zone on the East side of Avenue
M for approximately 95 feet North of Main Street.
Extend the parking meter zone on the North side of Broad-
way for approximateJy 100 feet West of Avenue M.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Manager is authorized to cause to be installed
parking· meters and cause meter spaces to be designated in said parking meter
zone in accordance with.the provisions of the Lubbock City Code.
SECTION 3. THAT due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of this
ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a public
·necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with, and this ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage at provided by-law.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication
of this Ordinance once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the official publica
tion of the City of Lubbock.
