AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A VOTING PRECINCT AND VOTING PLACE
MAP TO BE DESIGNATED 11DECEMBER 1958 REVISED VOTING PRECINCTS
MAP11 AND MAKING SAID MAP A PART OF THIS ORDINANCE SO AS TO DE-
LINEATE THE VOTING PRECINCTS IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND ESTAB-
LISH VOTING Pl.ACES FOR SUCH PRECINCTS: DIRECTING THAT A COPY OF
SAID MAP BE PLACED IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY FOR PUB~ t:
INSP:ECT.IQN_:.AND THAT A COPY OF SAID MAP BE FURNISHED EACH PRE-
SIDING ELECTION JUDGE AT AN ELECTION; FR0.YIDING FOR PUBUCATION;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBING THE EFFEC.TIVE DATE
OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that a revision in the voting precinct
and certain revisions in the voting places is needed due to recent annexations of
land to the corporate limits to the City of Lubbock, Texas, and the City Commiss on
further finds that it would be ex_pedient and in the public interest to adopt a voting
precinct map to delineate the vct.ing precincts in said City; and,
WHEREAS, the property and lives of the citizens of the City of Lubbock and
the operations of various departments of the City demands the immediate adoption
of a revised voting precinct map which creates an emergency: NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION I. THAT the Lubbock City Code is hereby amended by adding
thereto a new sub-division to be designated 11Sub-aivision 10-6. 111 which shall
read as follows:
11All general and special elections of the City of Lubbock shall be held at the
following voting places, which shall be the voting place for the voting precincts
herein established as follows:

Voting precincts one (1) through twelve (12) inclusive are hereby delineated
on the map denominated 11DECEMBER 1958 REVISED VOTING PRECINCTS MAP. 11
A copy of said map is hereby attached to and made a part hereof as though fully

copies herein in detail. An original copy of said map shall be kept in the office ~
of the City Secretary and shall be open to public inspection, and at each special
and general City election, a true copy of said map shall be furnished by the City
Secretary to each of the presiding judges of each voting precinct in said election.
The voting precincts and voting places as established by this Ordinance
are a revision of voting precincts of the City of Lubbock and are substituted in
lieu and in place of the voting precincts and voting places as established by Sec.
10-6 of the Lubbock City Code. ..
All City elections shall be held and the polls shall be opened from 7:00 a.m.
to 7:00 p. m •• and all electors shall vote in the voting precinct of their residence. 1
SECTION 2. The City Secretar} is hereby authorized and directed to publis
this Ordinance once a week for two (2 consecutive weeks in a newspaper regular!
published in the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 3. Since an emergency exists as described in the preamble of
this Ordinance, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
and the rule requiring that Ordinances be passed after two (2) readings is hereby
suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
