HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2667-1958 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 And The Official Zoning Map - 12/31/1958,~-31 -1 ORDINANCE NO. 2g-67 01-oe,... 19139 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW- ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 72.3 -CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IMMEDJATELY-SOUTHOF THE 2400 BLOCK OF UTICA AVENUE FROM AN 11R-l11 TO AN 11R-311 ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 1 Ollf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutues, amended_ in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission deter- mined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter. set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE, . . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No .. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map.BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 723 Change the following described property from an 11R-l 11 to an 11R-311 zoning district: · A triangular tract of land out of and being parts of the Southwest one-fourth (SW /4) and the Southeast one-fourth {SE/4) of Section 17, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a 1/211 iron rod set at the center of the said Section 17 for the Northeast corner of the SW /4 and the Northwest corner of the SE/4 of Section 17 and a point in the North line of this tract; THENCE South g9° 551 East, along the North line of the SE/4 of the said Section 17, a distance of 3 72. 25 feet to a 1/211 iron rod for · the East corner of this tract; THENCE South 53°54' West, along the Northwesterly line of an alley and along a line which is 65 feet Northwesterly of and parallel to the center line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railroad, a distance of 1001. 20 feet to a 1/211 iron pipe for the South corner of this tract; THENCE North o0 051 East 591.10 feet to a 1/211 galvanized iron pipe set in the North line of the SW /4 of Section 17 for the North- west corner of this tract; THENCE South 89° 551 435. 85 feet to the PI.ACE OF BEGINNING, containing. 5,483 acres of land, more or less, of which 4. 315 acres are out of the SW /4 and 1. 168 acres are out of the SE/4 of the said Section 17. {Said property being located immediately South of the 2.400 Block of Utica Avenue). ' SECTION 2.. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section l hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amend- ed in accordance herewith, AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
