AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW-
ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 714 -CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY

IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, -TEXAS, FROM AN 11R-l11 TO AN 1'R-211 ZONING
DISTRICT. .
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its r.ecom1:1enda-
tion, which was received by the City Commission, and after due con~1.derat1on,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set
out will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS., all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment I
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as. giving
notices in compliance with Section ZO of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article l0llf, Vernonts Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly pdblished in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than
fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commis• I
sion on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City
Hall, I;.,ubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the pro-
posal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that
it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning
Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth
in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final
written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 714 ----------.....
Change the following described property from an 11R-l11 to an "R-211
zoning district:
BEGINNING at a point, said point being 60 feet North of the South
right-of-way line of 29th Street, and in the West right-of-way line
of Quaker Avenue in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE Westerly parallel to and 60 feet North of the South right-of-
way line of 29th Street to a point in the extension of the East right-of-way
line of Toledo Avenue as extended from the South;
THENCE Northerly along said extension of the East right-of-way
line of Toledo Avenue to a point 170 feet North of the South right-of•
way line of 29th Street;
THENCE Easterly parallel to and 170 feet North of said South right-
of-way line of 29th Street to a point in the West right-of-way line of
Quaker Avenue;

THENCE in a 'Soutb:e.rly direction along said West right-of-
way line of Quaker Avenue, to the point of beginning. (Said
property being located in the 4400....:.Block of 29th Street)
SECTION:2.-11THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance,
said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be
changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in
accordance herewith. ·
AND IT IS SO ORDERED. -,,_
