ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION WHICH SHALL BE DESIGNATED SECTION il

PARTS OR VEHICLE ACCESSORIES TO REPORT TO TH~ CHIEF OF POLICE T
NAMES, ADDRESSES AND PROOF OF OWNERSHIP OF ALL SELLERS OF SUCH
ITEMS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.
WHEREAS, the proper policing of lost and stolen vehicle accessories requires
that purchasers of such items work with the City Police, the City Commission find
that the following Ordinance is deemed necessary·-to the public safety and welfare;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

SECTION 1. THAT Charter 19 of the Lubbock/Code is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new Section which shall be designated Section 19-15, which shall
.read as follows:
'!A~y person, firm or corporation purchasing vehicle hub caps~
mirrors, fenders, skirtsot ornaments, tires1 or other parts of
vehicle accessories, from individuals not engaged in the law-
ful business of selling auto parts and equipment shall make
daily reports of all such purchases to the Chief of Police before
the hour of 10:00 o'clock, A.M. except on Sunday., ~ing the
.! name, age and address of the seller and any proof of ownership \
furnished to the purchaser by the seller. Any personz firm or
corporation failing to so report such purchases shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor. 11
S~CTION 2. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause the
publication of this Ordinance once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a news ...
paper regularly published in the City of Lubbock and this Ordinance shall become
effective ten (10) days after its last publication.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this
Ordinance shall upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed TWO
HUNDRED AND N0/100 ($200. 00) DOLLARS.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
