ORDINANCE NO. ~588 to -09-t95~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW-
ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 708 -CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY
LOCATED IN THE-VIeiNif"YYF3TST STREET AND QUAKER AVENUE
FROM AN trR-111 TO AN "R-211 ZONING DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set
out will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a va[damendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
1 notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices I
provided by Article 1011£, Vernon•s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fiftee
{15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commission on
such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was
duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall,
Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal;
and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would
be in the, public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance
and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body
of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form
prior to first reading hereof; NOW T HEREFORE1
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE }
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 708
Change the following described tract of land from an nR-1" to an "R-211
Zoning District:
A 4. 166 acre tract of land located in Section 17, Block B,
Lubbock County, Texas, described by metes and bounds
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which is 1005 feet North and 60 feet
West of the Southeast corner of Section 17, Block B, said
corner being the Southeast corner of the Jr. High tract;
THENCE South 0°01 12011 West in the West line of Quaker
Avenue a distance of 180 feet to a point in the North line of
a 15 foot alley;
THENCE South 89°58' 50" West in North line of alley a distance
of 996 feet to a point in the centerline of Salem Avenue;
THENCE North 0°01'1011 West a distance of 65 feet to a
point of curvature;
TJiENCE Northwesterl around a curve to the left, with
radius of 136.36 feet, delta angle of 41°30', a distance of
113. OS feet to a point of tangency;
THENCE North 47°31'10" West a distance of 21.55 feet to
a point in the centerline of 31st Street;
THENCE North 89°58'50" East a distance of 1056.28 feet
to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. (Said property being in the
4400 Block on 31st Street).
SECTION z. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
