ORDINANCE NO. 2570
AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRJATIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE
BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1958 AND ENDIN
SEPTEMBER 30, 1959; PROVIDING THAT TIMING OF EXPENDITURES FOR !I
PROJECTS AND PURCHASES BE SUBJECT TO CONTROL OF CITY MANAGE!f:
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS,. the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1958 has
been duly filed with the City Secretary-Treasurer and approved by the
Commission) and the Commission finds it to be appropriate and necessary
for the usual daily operation of all municipal departments tlB. t funds therein
provided for be appropriated for the purposes indicated by said budget, which
creates an ·emergency requiring that this ordinance be immediately passed
and effective according to its terms; THEREFORE~
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBO
SECTION 1. That the funds provided for in the budget for the fi seal year
b e ginning October 1, 1958 and ending September 30, 1959 are hereby approp-
riated for the purposes indicated by the revised budget finally adopted,
approved and filed with the City Secretary-Treasurer, said expenditures to be
made out of a proper allocation of the revenues of the City and/or other
avail\lble funds.
SECTION 2. That the timing of all expenditures for each proJect~ contrac
and purchase shall be subject to control and approval of the City Manager,
unless otherwise directed by the Commission.
SECTION 3. The provisions of this ordinance shall become effective
October 1, 1958
SECTION 4. The fact that this appropriation ordinance is necessary for
the asual daily operation of all municipal departments of the City o£ Lubbock,
and the fact that its passage is immediately required for planning purposes,
c r eates an emergency, requiring the suspension of all rules providing that
no ordinance shall be passed on the day on which it is introduced, and this
ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage by unanimous vote
of the Commission.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
On motion of Commissioner Casey , seconded by
Commissioner Maner 7 this Ordinance was passed on the 14th
day of August , 1958, by the following vote:
