AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AN AREA AND TRACTS OF LAND, -WTZCP
AREA ABUTS AND IS ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF LUBBOCH, TEXAS, AND WI -RICH AREA SURROUNDS THE EXISTING CITY
OF LUBBOCK BOUNDARIES ON ALL SIDES OF THE CITY, SAID AREA BEING
INCLUDED WITHIN THE METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION SET OUT IN THE
BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE CITY
LIMITS AND CORPORATE BOUNDARIES TO ANNEX ALL OF THE AREA INCLU-
DED WITHIN SAID METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION, WHICH HAS NOT

MENT OR ABANDONMENT OF THAT ASSERTION OF AUTHORITY AND JURIS-
DICTION MADE BY VIRTUE OF ORDINANCE NO. 2537 AS PASSED ON FIRST
READING ON THE 24TH DAY OF JULY, 1958; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICA-
TION AND FINAL PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION3-A, ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 1 OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that within the areahereinafter
I 'described, there is an area of land lying on all sides and surrounding the existing
ftity Limits, which is in line of development, growth and expansion being
experienced by the City of Lubbock, that the annexation thereof has been requested,`
sand the Commission finds further that annexation of all of said area, not hereto- `
fore annexed, and lying within the boundaries of the entire area described by metes'
and bounds in the body of this Ordinance, will be in the best interests of the public, it
public health, morals, safety and general welfare, and the Commission is authorizOid
'to annex the same under the Charter provisions of the City of Lubbock; NOW

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK-
SECTION 1. THAT all that area of land contained within the following
described tract and area of land, and which area contained therein has not hereto-
fore been annexed to and brought within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock,
and which area contained therein, considered as one tract of land, abuts and is
adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock in Lubbock County,
Texas, and included within the area described by metes and bounds as follows,
to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point in the West line of Survey 10, Block "All
and 150 feet North of the North line of the South one-half section
of said Survey 10, Block "All;
THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet North of the North line of
the South one-half section of Survey 10, Block "All to a point 150
feet East and 150 feet North of the intersection of said one-half
section line with the East line of said Survey 10, Block "All;
THENCE South parallel to and 150 feet East of the East line of
Surveys 10 and 7, Block "A'% (being 150 feet East of the approxi-
mate centerline of a street to be known as Squirt Avenue), to a
point 150 feet North and 150 feet East of the Southeast corner of
said Survey 7;

the centerline of a street to be known as Olive Avenue), to a

THENCE continuing South 841 feet West of the East lines of
Surveys 1 and 4, Block "S" to a point 50 feet Southwest of
the centerline of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway Company's
main line track as measured at right angles to said track;
THENCE Southeasterly parallel to and 50 feet from said center-
line to the North line of Survey 1.2, Block "S";
THENCE continuing Southeasterly 2902 feet, more or less, as
measured on the line parallel to and 50 feet from said Railway
centerline;
THENCE South 33024' West a distance of 500 feet;
THENCE North 5700' West a distance of 4055 feet, more or
less, to a point 150 feet South of the Northwest corner of Survey 12,

THENCE North parallel to and 150 feet West of the West
lines of Surveys 29, 36, 37 and 44, Block t1AK11; and Survey 9,
Block T1JS11, (being 150 feet West of the approximate center-
line of a proposed street to be known as Milwaukee Avenue)
to a point 150 feet North and 150 feet West of the Northwest

THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet North of the North line
of Survey 9, Block 11JS11 to a point lying 150 feet West of the
West line of Survey 1, Block t1JS11;
THENCE North parallel to and 150 feet West of the West lines
of Surveys 1 and b, Block 11JS11, (being approximately 150 feet
West of the proposed centerline of Frankford Avenue) to a point
150 feet North and 150 feet West of the Northwest corner of
Survey b, Block 117511;
THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet North of the North line
of Surveys b and 5, Block S1JSt1 and Survey 18, Block "Alf, (being
150 feet North of the approximate centerline of Ursuline Street)
to a point 150 feet North and 150 feet West of the Northeast
corner of Survey 18, Block "All;
THENCE North parallel to and 150 feet West of the West line of
Survey 12, Block "Ail and Survey 2, Block 11D4" to a point 150
feet West and 150 feet North of the North line of the South one
half of said Survey 2, Block 11D411;
j THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet North of the North lines

South one half of Survey 9, Block T1At' to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
all in Lubbock County, Texas,
BE and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits
of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall not be construed in any way as a
waiver, relinquishment or abandonment of the assertion of authority and juris-
diction made by the City of Lubbock by virtue of passage on first reading on the
24th day of July, 1958, Ordinance No. 2537; that this ordinance shall in all ways
be construed as a reaffirmation and continuance of said assertion of authority
and jurisdiction as to that area and tract of land included within the metes and
bounds description contained in said Ordinance No. 2537 as is also included
within the metes and bounds description herein contained in Section 1 hereof,
SECTION 3,, This Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily news-
paper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time and shall not be
+hereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such
ublication, and if finally passed in its present form the boundary limits of the
dty of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, territory and extension
described in Section 1 of this Ordinance (which contained area has not heretofore
been annexed, containing approximately 28, 734 acres lying between the
present City Limits and the new boundary nsfa=s ied by this Ordinance), and
the corporate boundaries of the City are hereby extended in accordance therewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
