AN ORDINANCE CANCELLING A CERTAIN ERROR IN LEG..(f
DESCRIPTION IN ORDINANCE NO. 2467 OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK {WHICH
ORDINANCE CLOSED CERTAIN PORTIONS OF DETROIT AVENUE WIDCH LIE
SOUTH OF 42ND STREET AND EAST OF ELGIN AVENUE} AND SUBSTITUTING
THEREFOR A CORRECT LEGAL DESCRIPTION AS MORE PARTICULARL"Y
HEREAFTER SET OUT; AND RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE CLOSING
F SAID PORTIONS OF DETROIT AVENUE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK INDICAT
NG THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF DETROIT
,AVENUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, it is expEdient to correct a certain error in legal description
contained in Ordinance No. 2467 and the City Commission further finds that it
r ould be in the public interest to correct said error; NOW THEREFO~;
B~ IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
I SECTION 1. THAT the legal description of Tract No. 1 as contained
~~n Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2467 of the City of Lubbock is hereby cancelled,
,and the following legal description for said Tract No. 1 is hereby substituted
~n lieu and in place of the description of Tract No. 1 as contained in Section 1
f Ordinance No. 2467, as follows, to-wit:
11TRACT NO. 1 DETROIT AVENUE IN LOT 2, DEAN ADDIT br ----------~---------..-------------.--..---
BEGINNING at a point in the North line of Lot Two (2), Block Two (2),
Witt Acreage Addition, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, said point being 275 feet East of the Northwest
Corner of said Lot Two {2);
THENCE South a distance of 237.5 feet to a point;
THENCE South 16°42' We st a distance of 56. 03 feet to a point;
THENCE North 81 °28' East a distance of 41. 56 feet to a point;
THENCE East 13. 0 feet to a point;
THENCE North 16°42' East a distance of 41.76 feet to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 245 feet to a point, said point being
in the J'lQrth line of said Lot Two (2.);
THENCE West along the North line of said Lot Two (2) a distance
of 50 fe et to the POINT OF BEGINNING, containing • 33 acres,
more or less. 11
.. ~ECTION 2. THAT the closing of certain portions of Detroit Avenue
re hereby ratified and confirmed as of the date of the final passage of Ordinance
o. 2457, to-wit: the 8th day of May, 1958; it being the intention of this Ordinance
.o correct the error in legal description of Tract 1 as described in Section 1 ~of
rdinance No. 246 7, and further to ratify and confirm said closing and abandoning
f a certain portion of Detroit Avenue as corrected in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock indicating
the portions of Detroit Avenue as described in Section 1 hereof have been closed,
vacated and abandoned as shown by the correct legal description contained in said
Section 1 of this Ordinance, and showing the number of this Ordinance and the
date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
