AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWI C
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 697: CHANGE LOTS 7 AND a,. BLOCK 2, MURP
PLACE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCKlll LUBBOCK COUNTY-.: TE
FROM AN "R-2" TO AN "R-311 ZONING DISTRICT •. -·(VICINITY OF 20TH
STREET AND MEMPHIS AVENUE). SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDI-
TIONS: . (1) THAT THE PRO-RATA SHARE FOR WIDENING ZOTH STREET

TO A RIGHT-OF-WAY WIDTH OF 60 FEET BE PROVIDED. (2) THAT NO
PARKING BE PERMITTED IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING SETBACK LINE ON
THIS PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made ha
en duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, \i
w · ch was received by the City Conuniesion and after due consideration, the City
Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will
be in the public interest; and,
WH~REAS., all ~o~9i.!i.Q~S precedent required by law for a valid amendmen
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as givi g
notices in compliance with Section ZO of Ordinance No4 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£1 Vernon1s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, ,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fif-
teen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Conunissio.
on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice
was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall,
Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal;
and, after said hearing., it was by the City Commission determined that it woul
be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance
and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body
of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written for 1
prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMrSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 697: Change Lots 7 and a, Block Z, Murphy Place Addition
to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an rfR-211 to an "R-3"
zoning district. (Vicinity of 20th Street and Memphis Avenue). Subject to the
following conditions:
1. That the pro-rata share for widening ZOth Street to a right-of-way
width of 60 feet be provided.
2. _That no parking be permitted in front of the building setback line
on this property.
S~CTION Z. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amende '
in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED•
