ZONING DISTRICT., SAID AREA BEING DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS

' IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described area was not included in and made a
part of the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock on the effective date of
Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 as originally enacted; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in and supplements to the zoning districts
as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Comrnis
sion for its recommendations, which recommendation was received by the City
Commission, and after due consideration,. the City Commission finds that making
the proposed changes and supplements as hereinafter set out will be in the public
interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid supplement
and amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with
as well as giving all notices in compliance with Section 2.0 of Ordinance No. 1695
as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon1s Annotated Civil Statutes,
as amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning
Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of public hearing before
the City Commission on such notice was duly held in the City Commission Room
on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appear d
in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing it was by the City Com-
mission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed
conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended and supple
mented in substantial compliance with the proposal, and this Ordinance having
been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW'*'
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSlON OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK.
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 as amended and the Official Zoning
Map of the City of Lubbock BE and the same are hereby amended and included
in the respective zoning district of the City of Lubbock as hereinafter set forth, J
and so included and shown upon the Offi~ial Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock,
as follows:
ZONE CASE NO. 693 : Place all of the following described area annexed
to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, on March 27, 1958, by Ordi-
nance No. 23971 in the "R-.1'1 Zaning District, said area being described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the east line of Section 4, Block E-2~ Lubbock
County, Texas, said point being in the present City Limits Line and 2145
feet north of the southeast corner of said Section 4, Block E-2;
THENCE south along said present city limits line a distance of 1085 feet to a
point;
THENCE west along the present city limits line a distance of 2642.. 0 feet to
a point;
THENCE north parallel to and 2642 feet west of the east line of Section 4,
Block E-2 a distance of 2334. 9 feet to a point;
THENCE east parallel to and 3394. 9 feet north of the south line of Section 4,
Block E-2, a distance of 2642.0 feet to a point in the east line of Section 4,
Block E-2;
THENCE south along the east line of Section 4~ Block E-2, a distance of
1249.9 feet to the POiNT OF BEGINNING and contains 141.62 acres, more
or less. (Vicinity of 17th Street and Slide Road).
SECI'.ION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Se.ction 1 hereof
shall be placed in the zoning districts indicated, and shall be subject to all
pertinent provisions of the said Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, as amended and
the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock is hereby amended and extended
in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
