OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW-
ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 696-CHANGE LOTS 1 THROUGH 12
INCLUSIVE, BLOCK 2, LANE RE-SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 4, MCCRUMMEN1S
SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK⢠LUBBOCK <DUNTY.,
TEXAS, FROM AN "R-211 TO A 11C-411 ZONING DISTRICT. (VICINITY OF
20TH STREET AND AVENUE S},. SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
. IN THE EVENT A BUILDING PERMIT IS NOT SECURED MD CONSTRUCTION
OF THE PROPOSED TELEPHONE BUILDING ACTUALLY BEGUN WITffiN
ONE YEAR FROM MAY 22, 1958, ALL PARTIES HAVING AN INTEREST IN
THE LOTS INVOLVED IN TillS ZONE CASE NO. 696, ARE HEREBY REQUIRED
TO APPEAR AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION
NEXT AFTER ONE YEAR FROM MAY 22, 1958, AND SHOW GOOD CAUSE
FOR FAILURE TO SECURE THE BUILDING PERMIT AND START CONSTRUC-
TION ON THE TELEPHONE BUILDING PROJECT~ AND THE BUILDING INSPE
TOR IS PROHIBITED FROM GRANTING A BUILDING PERMIT AFTER SAID
REGULAR MEETING UNLESS THE TIME IS DULY EXTENDED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION AND ALL PAR TIES ARE HEREBY PUT ON NOTICE THAT CITY
COMMISSION 'WILL AT SUCH TIME CONSIDER PLACING SAID LOTS IN A
ffiGHER ZONING DISTRICT.
WHEREAS11 the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its
reco:mrnm dation, which was received by the City Commission and after due
consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as
hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well
as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well
as notices provided by Article 1011£_, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes,
amended in 1953.t and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning
Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the hearing according
to said notice was duly held in the Oty Commission Room on the first floor of
the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time several citizens appeared
both for and against the proposal; and at said public hearing the sponsors of the
Zone Change agreed to begin construction on the site within one year from
date of said public hearing; and, after said hearing, it was by the City
Commission determined that it would be to the public interest, due to changed
conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the
manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance, and this Ordinance
having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance I\o. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map
BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 696
Change Lots 1 through 12. inclusive~ Block 2, Lane Re-Subdivision of Block 4,
McCrummen1 s Second Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
from an 11R-211 to a "C-411 zoning district (Vicinity of 20th Street and Avenue S).
Subject to the following conditions:
In the event a building permit is not secured and construction of the proposed
telephone building actually begun within one year from May 22., 1958, all parties
having an interest in the lots involved in this Zone Case No. 696, are hereby
required to appear at the next regular meeting of the City Commission next after
one year from May 22, 1958, and show good cause for failure to secure the
building permit and start construction on the telephone building project., and
the building inspector is prohibited from granting a building permit after said
regular meeting unless the time is duly extended by the City Commission and all
parties are hereby put on notice that City Commission will at such time consider
placing said lots in a higher zoning district.
SECTION 2.. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section l hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accor·dance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
