XING AN AREA AND TRACT OF LAN_D_A.;.;...;.;:B~U-T_T_I_N_G ANDADJACENT TO.THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND BEING AN IRREGULAR TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 494 ACRES OF LAND LYING NORTH OF THE PANHANDLE AND SANTE FE CROSBYTON RAILROAD TRACK AND WEST OF QUIRT AVENUE EXTENDED AND EAST OF A VENUE A EXTENDED AND SOUTH OF URSULINE STREET EXTENDED (NOT HERETOFORE ANNEXED)~ MORE PARTICULARLY DES- CRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE EXI'ENSION OF THE CITY LIMITS AND CORPORATE BOUNDARIES TO ANNEX THE AREA TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION .1\ND FINAL PASSAGE UNDER PROVISION OF SECTION 3 -~ ARTICLE 1·,_ CHAPTER 1 OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK. WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the area hereinafter described is in the line of development, growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock, that the annexation thereof has been requested and the Com- ~ mission further finds that annexation of the described area will be in the best . interest of public health, morals, safety and general welfare, and the Commie-. I sion is authorized to annex the same under the Charter provisions of the City of Lubb?ck; NOW THEREFORE1 I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: ,, SECTION 1. THAT the following described area abutting and adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock in Lubbock County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits line and in the West line Survey 1, Block A, Lubbock County~ Texas; THENCE North 791. 7 feet more or less to the Southwest corner of Survey 77, Block A; THENCE continuing in a Northerly direction along the West line of Survey 77, Block A, to the Northwest corner of said Survey; THENCE Easterly along the North line of said Survey to the North- east corne.r of Survey 77, Block A; THENCE Southerly along the East line of said survey to its intersection with the centerline of the Panhandle and Santa Fe1s Crosbyton Branch Railroad Track; THENCE Southwesterly a distance of 4577. 1 feet, mo~e or less, along the center line of said railroad track to a point; THENCE South 390.161 West a distance of 728. 7 feet moee or less to a point in the present City Limits; THENCE continuing South 39° 161 West a distance of 102.2. 6 feet more or 1 l.e.ss al.oruJ-;t~.r.e..s.entxcj_ty_limits to the po.i_nt of beginning cont~ining approx.imatd~,...... 494 acres more or less# BE and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily newspaper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one ( 1) time and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such publication1 and if finally passed in its present form the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the areat terri- tory and extension described in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
