AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBUGATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF TinS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the matter of revising and/or amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock so as to provide for the appointing of alternate members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment has been referred to the Plan- ning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, after receiving said recommendation and report, the City Commission finds it would be to the public interest, safety, health, and general welfare to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock as hereafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Subdivision 19.1-1 and 19.1-2 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock (sai1d Ordinance being an appendix to th~ Lubbock City Code of 1955) BE and the same are hereby amended to read hereafter as follows: 1119.1. ~.!.~":!.sions_~r _!.o~~.aP..eard_o£ Adjus~~!.. 19. 1 -1. There is here by created a zoning board of adjustment consisting of five regular members, each to be appointed by a majority of the City Commission, and also consisting of two alternate members appointed by a majority of the City Commission. Either one or both of said alternate members may serve as an acting member of said Board of Adjustment at any meeting of said Board in the absence of any regular members of said Board. · 19. 1-2. Regular and alternate members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years and shaH be removable for cause by the City Commission upon written charges and after a public hearing. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by a majority of the City Commission of a suitable person to serve out the unexpired term of any regular or alternate member of said Board of Adjustment whose place on said Board has become vacant for any cause. 11 SECTION 2. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish this Ordinance once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper -Page One- '.. regularly published in the City of Lubbock and this Ordinance shall become effective as an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock ten (10) days after its last publication. J --,1. c-·· ~/" 1 ~ .P~ ~ .j.. , /'"' I ,._,.;5~~0TICE 9l PROPOSED AMENDMENT ro ZONING ORDINANCE OF 'lHE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS NOTICE is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, has recommended that Ordinance No. 1695, being an appendix to the Code of the City of Lubbo<*., be amended so that: Subdivisions 19.1-1 and 19.1-2 of Subdivision 19.1 be amended by change and/or amendment so as to read as follows: ttl9.1. Provisions for Zoning Board of Adjustment, 19.1-1. 'lhere is hereby created a Zoning Board of Adjustment consisting of five regular members, each to be appointed by a majority of the City Conmi.ssion, and also consisting of two alternate members appointed by a majority of the City Commission. M., in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas, to consider the recommendation of the Plannin& and Zoning-Commission to amend said Subdivision and portions of Ordinance No. 1695, bein& an appendix to the City Code of Lubbock, in the manner hereinabove set forth, and further to consider an Ordinance so amending such Zoning Ordinance; at which time and place all :interested per- sons will. be given an opportunity to protest against the proposed amendment of said Subdivision and portions of Ordinance No. 16951 or to make recom- mendations in support thereof. ------ After said hearing, the City Coumission will (le~ne whether the Zoning Ordinance will be amended in accordance with ~ch rec011111endations.
