HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2382-1957 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 And The Official Zoning Map Of City Of Lubbock - 01/09/1958AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND tHE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW- ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 670: CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY HERE- AFTER DESCRIBEDIN-THEB0'15Y-OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM AN "R-111 TO A "C-3" ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which was :received by the City Commission and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Vernonl's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953 and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Corrunission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading. hereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE. and the same are hereby amended as .follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 670 -Change the following described property rn-ihe-r!ity o1'l..ub"'bcici, Lubbock County, Texas, from an 11R-111 to a 11C-3" zoning district: A part of Section 17, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas~ described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a 1/211 rod which is 542.9 feet North 0° Olt 2511 west and 60 feet East of the Southwest corner of Section 17, Block B; THENCE North 0° 01' 2511 West a distance of 300 feet; ~ 0 THENCE North 53 54' East a distance of 635. 32 feet; THENCE South 36 ° 061 East a distance of 24 7. 4 7 feet to a point; THENCE South 53° 54r West a distance of 805. 13 fe~t to a point; THENCE West 8.49 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. {Vicinity of Brownfield Highway and Slide Road}. ) v SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordin- ance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith.
