AN ORDINANCE REPE.A,LING ORDINANCES NO. 1838 AND 1925 OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK; AND PRESCRIBING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 1838 of the City
of Lubbock on March 8. 1956, said ordinance being entitled: "An Ordinance
Creating the Office of Inspe ctor of Unfired Pressure Vessels; Authorizing Employ
ment of such Qualified Inspectors• l'rovid'iiig'Kretho<I'a'ilcl'"~onditions of Salary
Payment; and Declaring An Emergency. rt; and,
WHEREAS. the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 1925 of the City
of Lubbock on June 14, 1956, said ordinance being entitled: "An Ordinance To
Amend Ordinance No. 1838 of the City of Lub~ock to Adopt the American Society
of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code; Providing for Placing
Copies of said Code with the City Secretary and Building Inspector; .A,dopting the
Boiler Law Rules and Regulations State of Texas; Providing for Placing Copies
of said Rules and Reg ulations with the City Secretary and Building Inspector;
Providing for a Division of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection in the Building
Inspectorts Office; Prescribing the Duties of the Chief Inspector of Boiler and
Pressure Vessels; Authorizing the City Manager to Set a Fee Schedule for Inspec
ion of Boiler and Pressure Vessels; and Authorizing the City Manager to Deter-
mine the Compensation to be Paid to the Chief Inspector of Boiler and Pressure
Vessels1'i and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that Ordinances No. 1838 and 1925
of the City of Lubbock are no longe r needed and in the public interest should be
repealed; NOW, THEREFORE,.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinances No. 1838 and 192.5 (Ordinance 1925 is
included in the Lubbock City Code of 1955 as Chapter 39) BE and the same are
hereby repealed in their entirety.
SECTION z. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately from and
after its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
