HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2332-1957 - Supplementig And Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 - 10/10/1957I ORDINANCE NO. 21.3'2' I o ~ .;25-\ 9 5":1 AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING AND AMENDING ZONING ORDINANC NO. 1695 AS AMENDED; AND' EXTENDING, SUPPLEMENTING AND AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO THAT THE HERE INAFTER DESCRIBED AREA, WHICH WAS NOT CONTAINED OR INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK UPON THE EFFECT IVE DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS ORIGINALLY ENACTED, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ALL OF THE PERTINENT PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN SAID ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS AMENDED, AND SHALL BE INCLUDED AND CONTAINED IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK IN THE ZONING DISTRICT HEREINAFTER SET FOR'l;HAS FOLLOWS: ZONE CASE NO. 655 .. PlACE ALL THOSE AREAS PARTICULARLY DESCRlliED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THE ORDINANCE, WHICH AREAS WERE ANNEXED TO THE CITY ON JUNE 13, 1957 BY ORDINANCE NO. 2.199 IN THE 11R-111 ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the hereinafter described area was not included in and made a part of the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock on the effective date of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 as originally enacted; and, WHEREAS, the proposed changes in and supplements to the zoning districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Plan- ning Commission for its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission, and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed changes and supplements as hereinafter set out will be in the pu·blic interest; and, ' WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid supple'" ment and amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with as well as giving all notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notiqes provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, as amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen {15) days prior to the date of public hearing before the City Commission on such notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposali and. after said hearing it wa.s by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that~the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended and supple• mented in substantial compliance with the proposal, and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW, TIERE- FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 as amended and the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock BE and the same are hereby amended and included in the respective zoning districts of the City of Lubbock as hereinafter set forth, and so included and shown upon the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock, as follows: ZONE CASE NO. 655 Place all the following described areas annexed to the City of Lubbock on June 13, 1957 in the "R-111 .Zoning District, to-wit: BEGINNING at a polnt 2640 feet South of the Northeast corner of Section 8, Block E-2, and bei;ng a point on the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance 1746, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South along the East line of Section 8 and 11, Block E-2, a total distance of 2790 feet to a point, said point being 150 feet South of the Northeast corner of said Section 11, Block E-2; THENCE West parallel to and 150 feet South of the North line of Section 11, Block E-2 a distance of 5280 feet more or less to a point, said point being 150 feet South of the Northwest corner of said Section 11, Block E-2; THENCE North along the West lines of Section 11 & 8, Block E-2. a distance of 4930 feet to a point in the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance No. 1683, said point being 500 feet South of the Northwest corner of Section 8, Block E•2; THENCE East along the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance 1683 a distance of 5280 feet more or less to a point, said point being 500 feet South of the Northeast corner of Section 8, Block E-2; THENCE South along the East line of Section 8, Block E-2, and peing in the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance 1746 a distance of 2.140 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of this tract and containing approximately 597.6 acres. (Vicinity of 66th Street and Indiana Avenue). SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be placed in the zoning districts indicated, and shall be subject to all pertinent provisions of the said Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, as amended and the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock is hereby amended and extended in accordance herewith.
