' I j . AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING AND PRESGRIBING CER,.TAIN CHARGES
AND RATES FOR LOCAL EXCHANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE FURNISHED BY
THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY AND REGULATING AND
PRESCRIBING A METHOD OF FIXING CERTAIN RATES, ALL TO BE CHARGED
BY SAID COMPANY.
WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company haa appeared before
the City Commission of the City of Lubboc.k and a.ubmitted evidence of the need
for an increase in various rates and charges for loc;:al exchange telephone service
and the Comtn!.ssion has duly considered the evidence submitted to it and has
given due consideration to what constitute• a fair return on the fair value· of its
property devoted to furnishing local exchange service and is of the opinion and
finds that the rates hereinafter fixed and provided for will produce such return;
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE OITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. Southweatern Bell Telephone Company is authorized to place
into effect without discrimination, on the first billing date after this Ordinance
becomes effective, in accordance with the Charter of the Oity of Lubbock, the
following schedule of rates:

Rates and charges for miscellaneous services and equi pment shall
remain as heretofore established except as super15eded by those
rates and chargel!f cctntained i.n the Schedule of Mi scellaneous Rat~s
and Charges attached hereto and made a part hereof; provided,
however, that Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall have the
right to file from time to time with the City Commission different
rates and charges for such miscellaneous services .and equipment,
such different rates and charges to become effective 30 days after
filinB, when authorized by written resolution of the City Commission.
SECTION ~. All O:rdinances heretofore pasBed by the City Commission
of the City of Lubbock establishing rates and charges for telephone service
are hereby repealed effective with the establishmll'!nt of the rates authorized
in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. Nothing in this Ordinance contained shall be construed now
or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner, the right and power of
the City under the law to regulate the rates and charges of Southwest.ern Bell
Telephone Oom:.,'l&ny.
