HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2273-1957 - Amending Zoning Ordinace 1695. - 08/08/1957ORDINANCE NO. 2273 0~-~-\9S=t AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING AND AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. l()C)S AS AMENDED; AND' EXTENDING, SUPPLEMENTING AND AMEND- ING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO THAT THE HEREINAFTER DESCRmED AREA, WHICH WAS NOT CONTAINED OR INCLUDE IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK UPON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 1695 As ORIGINALLY ENACTED, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ALL OF THE PERTINENT PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN SAID ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS AMENDED, AND SHALL BE INCLUD ED AND CONTAINED IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK IN THE ZONING DISTRICT HEREINAFTER SET FORTH AS FOLLOWS ZONE CASE NO. 648 -TO PLACE ALL THOSE AREAS DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOT.JND'SlN""rHE BODY OF THJS ORDINANCE, WHICH AREAS WERE ANNEXED TO THE GITY OF LUBBOCK ON JUNE 13, 1957 BY ORDINANCE NO. 2200. IN ZONING DISTRICTS AS FOLLOWS1 A. PlACE CERTAIN PROP• ERTY DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 (A) OF THIS ORDINANCE IN AN "R-zu ZONING DISTRICT. B. PlACE CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 {B) OF THIS ORDINANCE IN AN nR-1'1 ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS,. the hereinafter described area was not included in and made a part of the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock on the effective date of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 as originally enactedJ and, WHEREAS, the proposed changes in and supplemenb to the zoning districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented. to the Zoning and Planning Commis sion for its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission, and after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed changes and supplements as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid supplement and amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with as well as giving all notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 10llf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, as amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen {15} days prior to the date of public hearing before the City Commission on such notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support. of the proposal; and, after said hearing it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended and supple• mented in substantial compliance with the proposal. and this Ordinance having been. introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW, T~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION I. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 as amended and the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock BE and the sa~ ar..e h-ereby amended and included in the respective zoning districts of the City c;>f Lubbock as hereinafter set forth, -and so included and shown upon the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock, a follows; ZONE CASE NO. 648 _,.....-.-------~----- Place all of the following described areas annexed to the City of Lubbock n June 13., 1957 by Ordinance No. ZZOO in zoning districts as indicated: A. TRACT 1. Place the following described property in the nR-Z" Zoning iatrict: BEGINNING at a point, said point being 1Z9Z feet South and 60 feet East of the Northwest corner of Seetion 9, Block E-Z, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East for a distance of 597 feet to a point; T'HENCE North for a distance of 2 74 feet to a point; THENCE West for a distance of 597 feet to a point1 THENCE South for a distance of .274 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. B. TRACT z. Place the following described property (Except TRACT 1, as bove described) in the ''R-11• Zoning District: BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance 1683, said point being 500 feet South of the Northeast corner of Secticm 9. Block E•Z. Lubbock County. Texas1 THENCE South along the East line of Sections 9 and 10, Block E.•Z, a total distanc.e of 4930 feet more or less to a point, 11aid point being 150 feet South of the Northeast corner of Section 10, Block E-.2; THENCE West parallel to and 150 feet South of the North line of Sections 10 and 27, B1ock E-.2, a distance of 5430 feet more or less to a point~ said point being 150 feet South and 150 feet. West of the Northeast corner of Section 27, Block E-2~ THENCE ~orlh parallel to and 150 feet West of the East line of Sections .27 and zs •. Block E-2, a distance of 4930 feet rd.ore or less to a point in the present City Limit Line as described in '()rdinance No. 1683, .said point being 500 feet South and 150 feet West of the Northeast corner of Section 28, Block E-.21 THENCE East along the pre,sent City Limit Line as described in Ordinance No. 1683 a distance o.f 543() feet more or tess to the POINT OF BEGINNTh.JG and containing approximately 61~. 6 acres. SECTION z. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels. of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be placed in the zoning districts indicated, and shall be subject to all pertinent provisions of the said Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, as amended and the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock ~s hereby amended and extended in accordance herewith.
