HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2151-1957 - Abandoning And Closing A Portion Of 16Th St. - 02/28/1957~r-~7 ORDINANy)p NO. .2151 03 -I U-ILJ,t;-:7 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTIO~ bF 16TH STREET IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TE~ AT THE PlACE AND LOCATION MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE C~TY OF LUBBOCK INDICATING THE CLOSING AND ABANDONING OF THE AFORESAID PORTION OF 16TH STREET. WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the portion of 16th Street hereinafter described is no longer needed for street purposes and for public purposes1 and, WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and to public travel and for all other public purposes; NOW, THEREFOREt BE lT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SEC'I1ION 1. THAT the portion of 16th Street bei ng described as follows! All that portion of 16th Street lying and being situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point 7. 5 feet East of the Southwest corner of Block 190, Original Town; THENCE East a distance of 35 feet to a pointj THENCE South a distance of 75 feet to a point; THENCE West a distance of 35 feet to a point; THENCE North a distance of 75 feet to the PlACE OF BEGINNING. BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and to public travel and for all public purposes. SECTION z. The City Engineer of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to malk the official map of the City of Lubbock indicating the portion of 16th Street as described in Section 1 hereof has been closed, vacated and abandoned, and showing the number of this O:.·dinance and the date of its final pas,age.
