ORDINANCE NO. 2224
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL
MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE:
ZONE CASE NO. 6391 (A) CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 (A) OF TinS ORDINANCE FROM AN "R-Z" TO AN
"R-1" ZONING DISTRICT. (B) CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 (B) OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM AN 11R-2" TO A
"C-411 ZONING DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning .and Planning Commission for its recom-
mendation, which recomm.endation was received by the City Commission, and
after due consideration~ the City Commission finds that making the proposed
changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest.., and,
WHEREAS, all conditions. precedent required by law for a valid amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well
as giving,all notices in compliance with Section ZO of Ordinance No. 1695, as
well as notices provided by Article lOUf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes,
as amended in 19537 and notice was duly publiahed in the Lubbock Morning
Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing
before the City Commission on such proposed amendment, and the public
hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Commission Roozn
on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas~ at which titne persons
appeared in support of the proposal; an~ after said public hearing~ it was by
the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map be amended in the
manner hereinafter set forth in the body of thia Ordinance, .and thia Ordinance
having been introd!j~:ed in final written forrn prior to first reading hereof;
NOW THEREFORE~

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE. CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows1
ZONE CASE NO. 639
(A) Change the following described property in the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock CoWlty, Texas, from an "R-211 to an HR-1" zoning district:
That portion of a tract of land that is presently in an "R-zu zoning
district, said tract of land being bounded on the west by Zenith
Avenue, or an extension thereof. boWlded on the north by a line,
said line being 330 feet north of the centerline of East Fourth Street,
bounded on the east by the centerline of Guava Avenue, or an
extension thereof:. bounded on the southeast by the centerline of
Idalou Road, and bounded on the south by the north line of
Block 101 C. D. Elliston Addition.
(B) Change the following de scribed property in the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock CQunty1 Texas~ from an 11R-211 to a. 11C-4"
zoning distl'ictt
BEGINNING at a. point~ said point being 30 feet We"at of
the southwest corner of Lot 25,. C. D. Elliston Addition;
THENCE east to a point, said point being the southeast
corner of Lot 24, C. D. Elliston Addition;
THENCE south to a. point, said point being 7. 5 feet north
of the northwest corner of Lot 1, C. D. Elliston Addition;
THENCE west to a point, said point being in the center-
line of Zenith Avenue;
THENCE north to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2 . THAT from and after the passage and effective date of
this Ordinance, said lots, tracts~ and parcels of land described in Section 1
hereof shall be changed to the Zoning District indicated, and the Official Zoning
Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith.
