TIXG AND ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE

THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS AND BEING WEST OF THE SLIDE ROAD;

EAST OF A ROAD DESIGNATED GENOA AVENUE WHICH RUNS NORTH
�`- AND SOUTHAND IS LOCATED ABOUT ONE MILE WEST OF THE SLIDE
ROAD; NORTH OF 34TH STREET; AND NORTH OF THE TRACT{ OF THE
r' SEAGRAVES BRANCH OF THE PANHANDLE AND SANTA FE RAILWAY
(C- I COMPANY, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 549 ACRES OF LAND BEING
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY

I AND CORPORATE BOUNDARIES TO ANNEX THE AREA; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION AND FINAL PASSAGE UNDER PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3-A,
ARTICLE I, CHAPTER ONE OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
AND EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS TO INCLUDE SAID ARIA.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the area hereinafter
described is in the line of development, growth and expansion being experienced
b the City of Lubbock; that the annexation thereof has been re uested, and

the Commission further finds that annexation of t described area will be
in the beat interest of public health, morals, safe y and general welfare, and
the Commission is authorized to annex the same under the Charter provisions
of the City of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
n� SECTION I. THAT the following described area abutting and adjacent
to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock in Lubbock County,
Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, said point being in the present
City Limits Line as described in Ordinance 1866 and
being 6601 Weft and 50 feet North of the Southeast corner
of the Southwest 1/4 of Survey 4, $lock E-2, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE West parallel to and 50 feet North of the South
line of said Survey 4, Block E-2, a distance of 1940 feet
more or less to a point, said point being 40 feet East
and 50 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Survey 4,
Block E-2;
THENCE South parallel to and 40 feet East of the West Lines
of Survey 4, Block E-2 and Survey 5, Block E-2 and Survey
6, Block E-2, a distance of 5480 feet more or less to a point,
said point being 40 feet East and 150 feet South of the North-
west corner of Survey 6, Block E-2;
THENCE East parallel to and 150 feet South of the North
line of Survey 6, Block E-2, a distance of 4440 feet more
or less to a point, said point being 150 feet South of the
North line of Survey 6, Block E-2 and being on the North
right-of-way line of the Seagraves Branch of the Panhandle
& Santa Fe Railway Company;
THENCE Northeasterly along said North right-of-way line
of Seagraves Branch of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railway
Company past the North line of Survey 6, Block E- 2, a total
distance of 804 feet morenr less to a point, said point being
on the North right-of-way line of the said Seagraves Branch
of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railway Company and 150 feet
West of the East line of Survey 5, Block E-Z and being a
point on the present City Limit Line as described in Ordinance 951;
THENCE continuing Northeasterly along the present City Limit
Line as described in said Ordinance 951 a distance of 111 feet,
more or less, to a point 60 feet West of the East line of said
Survey 5, Block E-Z;
THENCE North along the present City Limit Line as described
in Ordinance 1338 parallel to and 60 feet West of the East line
of Section 5, Block E-2, a distance of 2255.68 feet, more or less,
to a point., said point being in the present City Limit Line as
described in Ordinance 1304;
THENCE West along present City Limit Line as described in
Ordinances 1304 and 1897 a distance of 1686 feet more or less
to a point, said point being in the West property line of
Bangor Avenue;
THENCE North along present City Limits Line as described
in Ordinance 1897 and 1866 a distance of 2182 feet more or
less to a point, said point being in the South Property Line
of 20th Street;
THENCE West along present City Limit Line as described in
Ordinance 1866 a distance of 1554 feet more or less to a point,
said point being 660 feet West of the West 1/2 of Section 5,
Block E-2;
THENCE North along present. City Limit Line as described
in Ordinance 1866 a distance of 508 feet more or less to the
POINT OF BEGINNING and containing approximately 549 acres.
BE, and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate
limits of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 2, This Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily
newspaper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time, and shall
not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed
after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form the boundary
limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, terri-
tory and extension described in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
This Ordinance was ordered to be published by the Commission at
