HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2181-1957 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 Case No. 630 - 04/11/1957~~,..~I ( 0 ORDINANCE NO. 2181 04--~S-(35 + AN -ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING AND AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS AMENDED; AND EXTENDING._ SUPPLEMENTING AND AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY QF LUBBOCK~ SO THAT THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED AR.EA., WHICH WAS NOT CONTAINED OR INCLUDE IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK UPON THE EFFEC TIVE DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS ORIGINALLY ENACTE~ SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ALL OF THE PERTINENT PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN SAID ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AS AMENDED, AND SHALL BE INCLUDED AND CONTAINED IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK;a IN THE ZONING DISTRICT HEREINAFTER SET FORTH AS FOLLOWS: ZONE CASE NO. 630-TO PLACE ALL THAT.AREA PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF TinS ORDINANCE• WHICH WAS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK ON JANUARY 10, 1957 ~ BY ORDINANCE NO. 2118.a IN AN "R-l"' ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the hereinafter described area was. not included in and made a part of the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock on the effective date of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695J a• originally enacted; an'4 WHEREAS, the. proposed changes in and supplements to the zoning districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Com- mission for its recomm.endation. which recommendation was received by the City Commission, and after due consid.eratio~ the City Comm.ission finds that making the proposed changes and supplements as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; an~ WHEREA~ all conditions precedent required by law for a valid supplement and a.m.end.ment to the 'zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with as well as giving all notices in compliance with Section 2.0 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article lOllf~ Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes7 as amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Comm.hsion on such notice was duly held in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall~ Lubbock~ Texas, at which time persons appear in support of the proposal; an~ af~r said hearing, it was by the City Conuniaaion deterinined that it would be in the public inte.rest~ due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended and supplemented in substantial compliance with the proposal, and this ordinance having been intro- duced in final written form prior to first reading hereof, NOW THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION l. THAT Ordinance NO. 169~ as amended and the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubboc~ B.Ea and the same are hereby amended and aupple- mented, so that the hereinafter described areas shall be placed and included in the respective zoning districts of the City of Lubbock as hereinafter set fort~ and so included and shown upon the Official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock~ as follows: 0 ( ZONE CASE NO. 630 Place all the following de scribed property in an "R-1 •i Zoning District• to-wit: That property annexed to the City of Lubbock on January 10, 1957~ by Ordinance No. Z118, and described by metes and bounds a~· follows~ to-witt BEGINNING at a ;ppint on the pre sent City Limits Line, said point being in the west line of Survey 3, Block E-Z and 1240 feet north of the soQ.thwe st corner of Survey 3~ Block E-2., Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE north 185 feet; THENCE east 1295 feet to a point in the present City Limits Line and in the w~st line of Vicksburg Avenue; THENCE s~uth along the present City Limits Line and the west line of Vicksburg Avenue a distance of 185 feet; THENCE west along the present City Limits line a distance of 12.95 feet to the point of beginning; said tract containing 5. 50 acres .more or leas. (Vicinity of Slide Road and lhth Street). SECTION Z. THAT from and after pa·•·sale and effective date of this ordi- a.nce, sa.iCil lots, tract a and parcels of land de 11cribed in Section 1 hereof shall be laced,in the Zoning Dist.rict indicated, and shall be subject to all pertinent pro- isions of the said Zoning Or-dinance No. 1695, as amended and the Official oning Map is here by a.m.ended and extended in accordance ~"J:ewith.
