AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23 OF ORDI~E NO. 564, AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 1414, CHANGING PARKING METER NOS. 12-8-.3 Aim 12-8-21 ON THE
SOU'l'H SIDE OF THE 800 BLOCK OF BRDAIMAY, FROM ONE-NICKEL, ONE-HOUR PARKING
TO 12-MIWTES FOR ONE-PENNY, 24 MINUTES RlR TWO-PENNIES; REPEALING ALL
CONFLICTING ORDDWroESJ PROVIDING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZIID PUBLICATION; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

conditions, adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer to
change certain one-hour parking meters to ~minute parking meters; N 0 W,
THE REF 0 R E,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBOOCK:
SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 564, as amended bf Ordinance
No. 1414, is hereby amended so as to change and modifY the length of tiJne
parking is permitted on the South side of the 800 Block of Broad~, at
Meter Location Numbers 12-8-.3 and 12-S-21 so as to prohibit parking for a
longer continuous period than twenty-four (24) minutes.
SECTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer is here by authorized and
directed to install and place in operation a twelve (12)-m:l.nu~, one-pe!lJl1,
twenty-fonr (24)-minutes, two-pennies, parking mter at the following locations&
Parking Meter locations Nos. 12-8-.3 and 12-8-21 on the
South side of Broadway • .
SECTION 3. That that part of the provision of any-ordinana. or order in ...,
conflict ~1~ this Ordinance is hereby repealed. {: ~
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, aid
or abet the violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, I
be fined in any sum not to e~ceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.). I
SECTION 5. That the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication 1
ot the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the penalty clause, 1l
as an alternative method as provided by law. I
SECTION 6. That the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to the
public safety and to provide for a greater use of the public streets and due
to the changing traffic oonditioM, is declared to be an emergency measure,
thereby creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances
to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with; and this
Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as herein provided.
