Lloyd I Ross,Tax. ~.1 p .w i I = 1~-09-\.954- 0RDINANCE NO. 1642 1~-;2.\-IBSL..f----- AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTIO,N OF NORTH-SOUTHALL.EY BETWEEN PARIS AVENUE AND AVENUE P, AND NORTH OF SECOND STREET EXTENDED TO THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF- WAY LINE OF THE PANHANDLE SANTA FE .RAILWAY IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK. LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO M..f.RK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK INDICATING THE CLOSING AN.E> ABANDONMENT OF SUCH STREET. WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that a portion of the North-South alley lying between Paris Avenue and Avenue P and North of Second Street extended to the South right-of-way line of the Panhandle Santa Fe Railway in tbe City of Lubbock, Lubbock County. Texas, is now of no further use and benefit to the public and is no longer needed for alley or any other pub- lic purpose as such alley is a dead end alley on the North at the said railway right-of-way line; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it would be in the public in- terest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes and to pub• lic travel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the portion of the North-South alley between Paris Avenue and Avenue P and North of Second Street extended to the South right- L r of-way line of the Panhandle Santa Fe Railway BE,and the same is hereby in lj all things abandoned and closed for alley purposes and public travel. SECTION Z. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock indicating that this portion of an alley has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this or .. dinance and the date of its final passage. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
