AN ORDlNANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF EAST
37TH STREET ffi THE NELSON•BROWN ADDITION OF THE CITY OF LUB-
BOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY 1 TEXAS, BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DES•
CRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS ffi THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE,
AND Dffi.ECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MA.RK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF .
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK INDICATmG THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT
OF SUCH STREET •
WHEREAS~ the City Com.rnission finds that the land hereinafter mCi>re
particularly described by metes and bounds, the same being a portion of
East 37th Street hi the City of Lubbock, lying between Locuat Avenue and
Magnolia Avenue is now of no further use and benefit to the public and is
not needed for h!ghway and street purpos.ea or any other public purposej and~
WHEREAS, there is no further necessity or need for maintaining such
street and it is deemed expedient and economical for the City of Lubbock to
close, vacate and abandon said land for all purposes; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDA:DilED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY O.F LUBBOCK:
SECT.ION 1. THAT the portion of East 37th Street between Locust Avenue
and Magnolia Avenue as hereinafter more particularly described by metes and
bounds BE, and the same is in all things abandoned and closed for street pur ..
poses and public travel and for all other public purposes, such portion of said
East 37th Street being described as.. follows, to .. wit:
BEGll'I'NING at the Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block Z7 of the Nelson-
Brown Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County. Texas;
THENCE West along the South tine of said Lot 1 a distance of 305
feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 1~
THENCE Southwesterly along the South line of Lot 2, Block 27,
Nelson•Brown Addition a distance o£.07. 99 feet to a point, said
point being 22. 92 feet North and 50: feet East of the Southwest
corner of said Lot Z;
THENCE South a diatance of 50 feet to a point, said point being zz. 9Z feet North and 50 feet East of ~he Northwest corner of Lot Z,
Block ZS, Nelson-Brown Addition to the City of Lubbock and in the
North line of Lot Z, Block 28, Nelson-Brown Addition1
THENCE Northeasterly along the North line of said Lot Z, Block
28, a distance of _307 • 99 feet to the Northeast corner of .said Lot z,
Block 28 and the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block Z8, Nelson-Brown
