ORDINANCE NO. 1634 1~09-(.954-
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE
NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY IN LOT Z, BLOCK 2, WITT ACREAGE ADDITION,
AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY • TEXAS,
BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN
THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE •
WHEREAS, ~he City Commission finds that a portion of the North-
South alley in Lot z. Block Z, Witt Acreage Addition, an addition to the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock ,.·~county, Texas, is no longer need for alley
· or any p ublic purpose, as the owners of such property are in the process
of platting an alleyway to substitute and take the place of a portion of such
North•South alley; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it would be in the public
interest to close, vacate and abandon same for alley purposes and to pub-
lic travel; NOW. THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISsiON OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the portion of the North-South alley in Lot Z, Blos:k
Z, of Witt Acreage Addition, an addition t.o the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, hereinafter described by mete·s and bounds BE, and the
same is hereby in all things abandoned and closed for alley purposes and
public travel, such alley being further described as fOllows, to•wit:
BEGINNING 130 feet East of the Northwest corner of Lot 2, Block
2, Witt Acreage Addition, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas;/
THENCE East a distance of 15 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 175 feet to a point;
THENCE West a distance of 15 feet to a point
THENCE North a distance of 175 feet to the PlACE OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to mark the official map of the City of Lubbpck indicating that this portion
of an alley has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this or ...
dinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
