AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE
FOLLOWING CHANGES: (1} ZONING CASE NO. 487 • CHANGE LOTS 1
THROUGH lZ, BLOCK 3, C. D. ELUSTON ADDITION, AN ADDITION OF
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK. LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, F,ROM THE nBt1
TO ''H" ZONING DISTRICT (BROADWAY AND WALNUT AVENUE); (Z)
ZONING CASE NO. 489-CHANGE LOTS 11 THROUGH ZO, BLOCK 8Z AND
ALL OF BLOCK 83 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN, AN ADDITION OF THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM THE "C" TO 11 H11 ZON-
ING DISTRICT (9TH STREET AND AVENUE M); (3) ·zoNING CASE NO. 490 -
CHANGE THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TRACT OF LAND FROM AN 11A"

WHEREAS. the proposed changes in zoning districts
as hereinafter made liave been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning
Commission for its recommendation, which recommendation was received
by the City Conunisaion, and after due consideration, the City Commission
finds that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the
public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend•
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with as well
as giving all notices in compliance with Section ZS of Ordinance No. 661, as
amended, as well a• notices provided by Article 1011£, Revised Civil Statutes,
as amended in 1953, and notice was duly published October 17, 1954, in the
Lubbock M·:>rning Avalanche, and the public hearing according to said notice
W&l held at .Z:OO o~clock P. M. on November 9, 1954, in the City Commis•
sion Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock. Texas, at which time
persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was
by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest,
due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be I
amended in substantial compliance with the proposal; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE,
and the same are hereby amended ·.as follows, to-wit:
(1) ZONE CASE NO. 487 -Change Lob 1 through lZ, Block 3, C. D.
(Z)
Elliston Addition, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, from the 11 B 11 to "H" Zoning District (Broadway
and Walnut Avenue).
ZONE CASE NO. 489 -Change Lots 11 through ZO, Block SZ and
all of Block 83 of the Original Town, an addition of the City of Lub-
bock, Lubbock County, Texas, from the 11 C11 to "H" Zoning Dis-
trict (9th Street and Avenue M).
(3) ZONE CASE NO. 490 -Change that portion of the followinfl described
tract of land, which Is in an "A" Zoning District, to a "J" Zoning Dis-
trict:

(4) ZONE CASE NO, 491 -Change the North 150 feet of the following
described tract of land from an "A" Zoning District to a uJn Zon•
ing District:
Beginning at a point which is 990 feet East and 50 feet North
of the Southwest corner of Section 16, Block A, Lubbock County,
Texas; Thence East 300 feet to the West RwO•W line of Avenue
W; Thence North Z50 feet to a point; Thence West 300 feet to a
point; Thence South Z50 feet to the place of beginning (Erskine
Street and Avenue W). ·
SECTION z. That from and after passage and effective date of this Or-
dinance said lots,. tract and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall
be changed to the Zoning Districts indicated, and the Official Zoning 'Map is
hereby amended in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
