.AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23 OF ORDINANCE NO. 564, AS AMENDED
BY ORDINANCE NO. 1414, CHANGING PARKING METER NOS. K-12-15 AND .K-12-17
ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE 1200 BLOCK OF AVENUE K, FROM ONE-NICKEL, O}{g..HOUR
PARKING '00 12-MINUTES FOR ONE-PENNY, 24 MINUI'ES FOR TWO-PENNIES AND 24
MINt1l'ES FOR ONE-NICKEL RESPECTIVELY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES;
PROVIDING A PENAL'l'Y; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATIONJ AND DIDLARING AN El.fERGENCY.
W H B R E A S, the City Commission has, as a result of changed
traffic conditions, adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer
to change certain one-hour parking mtars to ~minute parking meters;
N 0 W, T H E R E F 0 R E,
BE l'l' ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE Cl'l'Y OF LUBBOCK: . , .
SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinanee No. 564, as amended by'
Ordinance No. 14141 is hereby 8lD9nded so as to change and modi.f',y the length
of tim parking is permitted on the East side of tbe 1200 Block of Avenue
K, at Meter Location Numbers K-12-15 and K-12-17 so as to prohibit
parking for a longer continuous period than twenty-four (24) minutes.
SECTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer is hereby author12Bc! and
direotsd to install and place in operation a twelve (12)-nrl.nute, one-pemv,
twnty-four (24)-minute, tw~pennies, parking meter and a twenty-tour (24J-
nduute, one-nickel parking mster, reapeotivaly, at the following locations:
Parking Meter Locations Nos,. K-12-15 and K-12-17 on the East
aide of the 1200 Block of. Avenue K.
SECTION 3. That that part or the prOV"ision of any ordinance or order
in oontlict vith this OrdiM.nce is hereey repealed.
SFX:TION 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate,
aid or abet the violation ot any provision or this Ordinance shall, upon
comriction, be fined in any sum not to exceed Tvo Hundred Dollars ($200).
!reTIOH 5. !hat the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publi-
cation of" the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together vi th the
penalty clause, as an alternative mthod aa pravided by' law.
SECTION 6. That the enactment or thh Ordi.J:lance, being necessary to the
public safety and to pravide tor a greater use of the public streets and due
to the changing traffic conditions, is declared to be an emergency measure,
thereey creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed
ordinances to be presented at tvo (2) separate meetings be dispensed with;
and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as
herein pravided.
