BY ORDINANCE NO. 1414, CHANGING PARKING ME!TER NOS. 1.3-9-8 AND 1.3-9-10
ON THE R)RTH SIDE OF THE 900 BIDCK OF 13TH STREET, FOOM ONE-NICKEL,
ONE-HOUR PARKING '1'0 12-MINUTES FOR ONE-PENNY, 24 MINl1l'ES FOR Tl«l-PENNIES
AND 24 MINUI'ES FOR ONE-NICKEL RESPECTIVELY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGE?~; I.
W H E R E A s, the City Commission baa, as a result of changed
traffic conditions, adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer
to change certain one-hour parking meters to 24-minute parking meters;
N 0 w; T H E R E F 0 R E,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COl.OO:SSION OF THE CITY OF LUBOOCK:
SPX:TION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 564, as a.JDended by
Ordinance No. 1414, is hereby amended so as to change and modify the length
of time parking ia permitted on the North side of the 900 Block of 13th
Street at Jobter Location Numbers 13-9-8 and 13-9-10, so as to prohibit
parking for a longer continuous period than tventy-four (24) minutes.
SECTION 2. '!'hat the City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and
directed to install and place in operation a twelve (12)-minute, one-penn,y,
tw"nty-four (24)-mi.nute, two-pennies, parking meter and a twenty-four (24)-
minute, one-Dickel, parking JDeter, respectively, at the folloving locations;
Parking Meter Locations Nos. 1.3-9-8 and 1.3-9-10 on the North
side of the 900 B1~ o~ 13th Street.
SECTION .3. That that part of the provision of any ordinance or order
in oonfiict with this Ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation 'Who shall violate,
aid or abet the violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
SECTION 5. That the City Secretary is hereby Airected to cause publi-
cation of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the
peDB1ty clause, as an alternative method as provided by l.aw.
SECTION 6. '!'hat the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to the
public safety and to provide for a greater U8e of the public streets and due
to the changing traffic conditions, ia declared to be an emergency measure,
thereb,r creating a public necessit.r that the rule requiring proposed
ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with·;
and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as
herein provided.
