AN ORD~E ESTABLISHING A LOADING ZONE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE kO<> BLOOK ON AVENUE J, BEGINNING AT A POINT 38 FEET SOlJl'H OF THE INTE~
SECTION OF 6TH STREET AND AVENUE J, AND El'l'ENDING SOt.n'H A DISTANCE OF
23 FEET; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING THE PAINTING
OF CURBS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic condit;lons,
business loading and unloading requirements making imperative the immediate
change in the establishment of a freight loading zone; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE em COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBOOCK:
SECTION 1. 'l'bat a freight loading zone BE, and is hereby esto.blished
in the following location:
On the West side of the 600 Block of Aveme J, beginning
at a point 38 feet South of the intersection or 6th Street
and Avenue J, and e~nding South a distance or 23 f'eet.
SECTION 2. That any part of any ordinance or order conflicting here-
with is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That the Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zone to be painted and said zone
plainly marked as Loading Zone.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions, creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use or the streets, the enactment
of this ordinance is declared to be an eDJrgency measure, thereby creating
a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be pre-
sented at tvo separate Comdosion meetings be dispensed vith; and this or-
dinance shall be effective from the date or its passage as provided bJ law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
